FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The essentials about our certifications and Quebec regulations.

All questions

How many first aiders does the CNESST require in the workplace?

The number of required first aiders depends on the number of workers present simultaneously at the workplace. In general, at least one first aider is needed for a small group of workers, with more required as the workforce grows. The new regulation on minimum first aid standards (RNMPSPS), in force since February 12, 2026, sets out these obligations.

How long is workplace first aid training?

CNESST-recognized workplace first aider training lasts 16 hours and must be delivered by a recognized service provider.

What first aid training is required to work in a daycare or CPE?

The Ministère de la Famille requires an early-childhood first aid course of at least 8 hours, including a module on managing severe allergic reactions and Level B CPR/AED. Renewal is 6 hours.
